Nicholas Cryder, Creative Director
About Me: Im a scrappy kid who grew up dirt-poor in Montana (aka “poverty with a view”).
My innate curiosity got me into heaps of trouble, but my ability to "Shape Narrative" quickly proved useful to get me out of it, which freed up more time for trouble.
Much to my families' horror, I blundered into the "agency world" at age 19. I was an outsider who spoke plainly because that seemed to make life easier to understand, and I was naive enough to believe that was what made for "good ads". I was also much tougher and scrappier than my peers from Southern California and LOT harder to offend. A classic case of an autodidact masquerading as an underdog.
Or maybe I was an underdog masquerading as an Autodidact?
What I learned was that much of branding and identity functions like a mirror that society loves to look into to hear nice things about themselves. The exciting part? And why I am so passionate about identity all these years later? It's finding things that are actually worth building identity on that come to life in surprising ways. Never gets old.
My creative career officially started in the trenches of the ad industry where besides learning to fix bayonets I also developed numerous other skills and creative abilities that proved especially helpful for wining the kinds of battles that hard-charging global brands, agencies and startups often face.
Today, I specialize in helping brands and the teams that lead them understand their DNA, wield purpose and execute compelling missions that will ultimately deepen the relationship with their respective marketplace.
